Tom Sachs and Nike merged to form NIKEcraft, which developed products for athletes, not consumers. In 2007, a small collection of Mars Yard clothing and shoes was released. Subsequently, all this was part of the art installation Sachs SPACE PROGRAM 2.0: MARS, in addition to which a rover and a solar-powered boombox were used. The sneakers were made of suede and a natural Vectran upper. Also used: a bold Sport Red Swoosh and heel pull tabs. What's more, the bottom of the sneaker features a modified Free outsole with thicker foam and improved traction.
